How We Keep Your Stored Belongings Safe And Sound
When it comes to storing your valuable belongings, security is our number one priority. We don’t take the safety of your stored items (whatever they may be) lightly because we understand it’s why you’ve rented with us in the first place. Without our sophisticated security features and diligent personnel, you’d be just as good as storing your goods in an insecure and vulnerable garage or garden shed.
What we offer is much better than any shed and is something you’ll be hard-pressed to find at any other facility. In order to make your storage experience completely stress-free, we’ve invested in a comprehensive security system that will keep your stored belonging safe. It’s the nature of this system that we want to explain today.
Electronic Security Gate & Personalized Key Code – All of our properties are fully enclosed by a protective fence, and the only way in is through a protected security gate. Each renter will be given their own personalized key code to use at this gate, so we can monitor every single person admitted into our facility. This will record who accessed the property and when.
Locks – Though our gate makes sure only authorized individuals can enter our facility, we go one extra step. Every self-storage unit will come with its own lock, ensuring no one but the key holder can access it. As you will be responsible for your own key, we recommend that you keep it in a safe place. Many of our clients label it and place it on their everyday keychain to reduce the chances of losing it.
Physical Security Checks – While many of the security features we offer rely on advanced technology, we still employ good old fashioned human security to make sure everything’s in working order. Frequent checks of the property are completed by each of our locations’ Property Managers. While they ensure lights, cameras, and alarms are fully operational, they also investigate any unusual behaviours or activities that they observe.
Video Camera Surveillance – There are times when our Property Managers will be busy helping our clients, so we’ve installed advanced cameras that monitor the entire facility 24/7. These cameras are linked with a control system that allows our employees to review and monitor any recorded footage. This will ensure there’s an eye on everything even if it’s not possible to be physically on location.
Lighting – It may sound primitive compared to our more advanced security measures, but lighting can have a profound effect on your unit and the property at large. A burglar’s best friend is a poorly lit location, as it will be easy for them to disappear into shadows while they scavenge. From the fenced enclosure to the hallways of units, our property is always well-lit, deterring anyone who might have sticky fingers. Not only will they be visible by anyone completing a physical security check, but they’ll stand out to the video cameras placed around the property.
Alarms & Backup Systems – Should all of these measures fail, they’re backed up by monitored intrusion alarms. Once tripped, the Property Manager will be aware of where a potential break-in is occurring, and they’ll promptly call the police before anything can happen. To ensure our facility is fully protected at all times, our alarms and other security features are backed up by an emergency energy supply. This battery backup system will keep our electronics running even in the event of a power failure, so your belongings are always protected.
As you can tell, security is something that we take seriously. We want to make sure you understand that it’s our top priority, so we invite you to come and speak with us directly. We’ll give you a tour of our super clean and secure site, so you know exactly what to expect when you rent a unit with us. Just give us a call, and we’ll be glad to show you around!
